Reading the real world article surprised me a lot. I heard things that are normally not brought during the reality TV show and I thought it was really interesting. This specifically quote surprised me more "She turns to Weinstock and cocks her head: Plus we work for a white man who wants blood out of you. He makes you say sh--t you don't want to say, and if you don't he screams and scratches". In my understanding, this quote is telling us that women are always forced to do things that are no interest to them, but since they want a career to pursue and also want the world to see who they are , they have to behave in a certain way and also how the director wants. They do not act in the way that they prefer, especially when they are women of color. They have to be loud, pull each others hair, and be very abusive to their fellow women because that is what they are known for.
Also reading this made me realize that it is hard for them to say certain things to the public especially when they have to talk about their marriages because it was stated in the article " When host Andy Cohen asked Leakes to recall the last time she had sex with her estranged husband , Greg, she offered, " Well not long ago" ( Page 3). And after saying that to the audience she was and second -guessing herself wondering maybe she has gone too far. In my opinion, who wants to talk to the public about her marriage. Again, all this leads to the point that they are force to say things they don't want but the directors think saying all this will more dramatic and will also bring more audience to watch the show, but it is also ruining their marriage.
I agree that women seem to be forced to do things that they don't agree with or are in some way forced to do.
ReplyDeleteThis happens a lot in society, I've noticed. Women are often forced to do things they don't want to do, and act in ways they don't really act. The same thing happens in pornography, though its is incredibly more violent. Women in television and media seem to be trapped.
