Today’s world is filled with consumerism, social media, television, and may other meaningless things. The importance of family and friends is not as stressed or as important as it used to be or still is in other countries. From writing a brief paper on my mom, I realized the importance of hard work, and determination. Social media and television don’t emphasize these things at all. Most TV shows show women in a derogative way that shows a very stereotypical female. I think when looking at women through a friend and family aspect, women are looked at as completely different. Women are more respected through friends and family. I think that women should be shown this way through TV. To me, it doesn’t make much sense as to why women are shown this way besides the fact that it brings in many views. I have never gotten into a fight with another girl, and I think many other women can say the same thing. I personally like some of these shows like the Kardashians. I find it to be funny, and I think that it’s almost like a whole new world. It’s obviously unrealistic, but I think it’s interesting to see how people with that amount of fame and “success” act, and what their life is or at least how it’s portrayed. Everyone has a certain amount of respect for their friends and family that are of the same sex, and most girls don’t go around trying to fight someone or would want to fight another person. I think that these stereotypes are not only degrading but extremely inaccurate.

  1. I agree most TV shows don't show a true working women and always look at the fun of partying or drinking, but never the job or family.

  2. I agree television shows should show more powerful and determined women and not just them constantly fighting and having drama. This is not an accurate portrayal of the majority women in the world

  3. I agree with you, women aren't being portrayed how they should be in reality TV shows. I think they should be showing more of their family and stuff that truly happens.
