Televisions shows such as The Real Housewives, Love and Hip-hop, Real world, etc. are shows that are considered reality shows. Even the Kardashian show fits into the category. I throw that one out there because I know a lot of people watch that, including me. I used to watch it all the time but started realizing how fake everything seemed and how pathetic it looked. I guess I just enjoyed the show because it was a guilty pleasure. I oved seeing how they lived their life and stuff but then started realizing how every episode had to a drama seen and such. I felt like that was so fake and it was starting to get annoying to watch.  I guess it’s because they have dragged the show on for so long I’m just not as interested as I was before.

The producers of these reality shows want people to believe this is how they live their lives and it’s really not. They record reality shows 24/7 and only end up showing us 45 minutes for every episode. They only show us what they want us to see and that’s basically all drama parts because they believe this is all the viewers want to see and believe this is what draws in more viewers. I won’t lie and say that I don’t like watching these shows because I do, sometimes. It’s fun to see how these famous people live their lives, which is very different from ours, but sometimes you can tell that all the unnecessary drama is just an act to pull through for viewers.

It’s just sad how most of these shows have more women than men. The women in these shows are beautiful but are shown more as monsters than anything else. The drama is ridiculous between some of these women. All they do is fight and bring each other down, while you don’t see that from men. I feel like there should be more reality shows that show women inspiring and learning from each other rather than just fighting and bringing each other down, over men especially. It sends very bad messages to young girls viewing these shows because then they believe this is the right way to act in order to be just like those women and then they grow up with this mentality. It’s not right to send this message to girls and women.
